Foxes team up with Molly’s Gift on Saturday 5th June, for the Molly’s Gift and Foxes Tournament. The day will see tournaments for both the senior and junior teams, as well a Wildcats session and a parent, coaches and volunteer game.
The morning will see our amazing Wildcats take part in a fun footballing session. At the same time the Cub Cup will be played – a tournament for our U10s and U12s.
After this, the Silver Fox Cup – a 30-minute match involving our coaches, parents and volunteers – will commence; likely to be the most hotly contested football of the entire day.
The morning will then be rounded off with the all important club awards.
In the afternoon we will have Molly’s Cup, for our U14s, U18s and senior teams. This will be a fun and exciting 6-a-side tournament.
In Honour Of Molly Webb
This tournament day is being held alongside Molly’s Gift, a fundraising trust set up in honour of Loughborough Foxes Vixens captain, Molly Webb, who sadly passed away on 6th January 2019, at just 25 years old.
Molly worked as a sports co-ordinator in primary schools and enjoyed coaching the Foxes junior teams in her spare time. Her passion lay in encouraging children to take part and enjoy sport. She never allowed ability or lack of opportunity to obstruct their progression.
Molly was a role model and inspiration to children she worked with and this trust allows her legacy to live on.
The trust aims to provide funding opportunities for youth development in sport, particularly for disadvantaged children. This was something that was incredibly close to Molly’s heart. Money raised allows local sports clubs, schools and other community projects, to apply for grants to enable youngsters from all walks of life to further pursue their sporting talent.
Ultimately, funds will support local youth sports clubs, primary schools or community projects to simply support a young person to smile through sport.
The event is taking place at Loughborough University.
Unfortunately this will be a closed event, due to Coronavirus restrictions. However, follow all of the action over on our Twitter and Instagram pages. Just search for @LboroFoxes on both sites.
