Time To Talk | Wellbeing Wednesday

Time to Talk Day is tomorrow (Thursday 4th February). Time to Talk Day is the day that we get the nation talking about mental health. This year’s event might look a little different, but at times like this open conversations about mental health are more important than ever.

The day is organised by Time to Change, a growing social movement working to change the way we think and act about mental health problems. The movement is led by Mind and Rethink Mental Illness, both large UK charity’s that focus on mental health and wellbeing. Time to Change works with employers, schools and communities to create safer spaces to openly discuss mental health.

This year Time to Talk day places the focus is on the ‘power of small’ and the fact that a small conversation can make a big difference as the more conversations we have the more myths and barriers we can break together. Their website has a host of resources to help you feel more comfortable talking to someone about mental health and how to reach out to those you think might need it.

Time to Change are hosting a number of different online virtual activities that you can get involved with starting this evening with a conversation between Jo Loughran their direction and representatives from the charity about the launch and the power that a conversation has in tackling the stigma.

So tomorrow please make a special effort to talk to someone openly about mental health. Use the tips above to start you off and make a habit of having the small conversations to make a powerful change!
